Christopher Rank is a visual and conceptual artist that concerns himself with the temporary nature of the works of man, and the breath of nature that succeeds him long after he is gone. Even the most important works of man will someday become dust, the things we hold personally important pass away with us, or within a few generations. This tension between doing something meaningful with life as well as the meaningless of our work to eternity is where his work explores.
His current series of works are interested in conspiracy and conspiracy theory and the impact that deep belief can have on the human relationships of the believer. Begun with a series called Fnord, which explored the places where people were assassinated; the work covers both those people whose lives have been impacted by conspiracy as well as an exploration of the diminishing impact of events as generations pass.
